If you’re tired of a bulky fifth-wheel hitch taking up your bed, this pin box keeps things simple. It replaces your factory Lippert Turning Point pin box so you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch ball. That means when you’re not towing, your truck bed is wide open for everything else. It’s rated for 21,000 lbs towing capacity and a 1,500–4,500 lb pin weight, giving you the flexibility and strength needed for heavy tow setups.
Road chatter and harsh bumps don’t have to be part of your towing experience. The internal torsion system inside this Gen-Y pin box works like a torsion axle—rubber cords twist and compress inside heavy-duty steel tubes to absorb motion and vibration. This limits both fore-and-aft chucking and up-and-down bounce, keeping your truck and trailer steady over rough or uneven roads without the upkeep of air bags or added moving parts.
Hitching up can be a one-person job with the self-latching design. When the 2-5/16" ball seats in the coupler, the latch automatically engages—no climbing into the bed to secure it. When it’s time to unhook, the SnapLatch pull rod lets you release the connection from outside the bed. It’s quick, clean, and easy to reach.
This pin box is made from thick, powder-coated steel that stands up to years of towing. The finish helps resist corrosion and wear, while the straightforward bolt-on install uses your existing mounting bolts. It’s built to handle real towing weight without extra maintenance—just solid performance trip after trip.
Cross-shaped holes on the underside provide a secure place to attach safety chains (Gen-Y part #GY49GR, sold separately). When converting to a gooseneck setup, these chains are required for a legal and safe connection, and this pin box is already designed to make that compliance easy.

I love having the bed of my truck back!
The box for the hitch was absolutely destroyed, the hitch has damage to the powder coat on most sides. Almost no packaging in the box, not sure how you guys pack these but this $[XX] hitch is beat up pretty bad. Really disappointed and i don't have time to had it repowder coated as i am picking up the new camper tomorrow with this hitch and now this one is going to rust.
My only complaint is for the price it should come with chains and mounting bolts
I never dealt with a company that was so efficient with their procedure on selling and shipping my hitch came 2 day Earlier than what they Predicted thank you
Overall this is a great quality product. Packaging and shipping were a breeze and fitment was perfect. I would recommend this product to anyone. I installed this on a 2018 Forest River Cherokee Arctic Wolf to replace the OEM Turning Point pin box.

I do have the 1621 auto latch 3.5 and it is great. So happy to have use of my bed when I am not pulling the trailer
I installed it pretty quickly probably an hour or two minimal help from my wife. It pulls good I think it’s a vast improvement over the turning point hitch but I haven’t yet and put very many miles on it.
The clip that keeps it locked onto the ball broke after using it twice. Very scary for a first time trailer owner worrying about the trailer coming off and causing an accident or killing someone.

That's very not good, Robert. Did you contact Gen-Y to see if they would warranty it? The issue you had definitely sounds like a warranty thing. And also, do you know how much pin weight your trailer has? These things are very sturdy and this is the first time I have had an issue with one.
I have been well pleased and excepcetionally satisfied with the Gen-Y pin box. We just returned from Texas making a 3000 mile roundtrip and encountered multiple rough roads.There was none of the chucking that I experienced towing with the turning point 5th wheel. A gooseneck is much superior to a 5th wheel in my opinion
I have towed now for a few thousand miles since changing to this pin box and honestly wish I had done this years ago! It tows so much better than my 5th wheel box did! Feels more stable, no more bucking and so much softer and better feel when towing! Not to mention so much less hassle dealing with a 5th wheel hitch!

Does a fantastic job. After 4 or 500 miles the ride quality smoothed out considerably. Extremely well built!!
Bolted right up to turning point hitch. Nuts and bolts are not included tho, sourced locally at tractor supply. Appears to be well made. Have not towed with it yet but don’t expect any issues. Height from pin to trailer is 1” less than stock pin box. Should not be an issue but I scooped up a 1” high rise goose ball just in case.
Haven’t installed it yet it’s too heavy to lift alone, but the fit and finish look amazing. I’ll follow up once we’ve used it towing a few times.
The ride while pulling our trailer is much better. While there is still some bucking, the Gen Y hitch is much smoother. The install was fairly easy as well.

Great system to convert to use BW turnover ball, bed stays usable.
I'm pulling a GD Reflection 150 with a short bed 2015 Ram 2500 4x4 and low profile toolbox with this GENY in the shortest height setting and a 4 inch BW ball that moves the ball back for more room. Works well.
Great replacement for the Curt Turning Point pin box! Easy to install and took a couple hours since I did it by myself. I had to purchase new 5/8” locknuts as the originals from the Curt install needed replacing. I also had to buy (4) 5/8” nuts from Tractor Supply since the Curt install had nuts welded on the front 4 bolt locations. I used the Curt 5/8” bolts and flat washers since they did not need replacing. I haven’t had a chance to get the trailer on the road yet, but see no reason why it will not pull nicely with the Gen Y gooseneck. It will be pulled with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 6.6 Duramax and 10 speed Allison transmission.

I prefer a gooseneck hitch, but the Gen Y from the pin box is too short. The clearance above the pickup bed was 3” to 4”, which I had to be extremely careful when backing and pulling the Jayco Eagle HT 30.5 ckts RV. Mutiple times I was unable to pull the RV on unlevel and rough camping sites without hitting the pickup bed sides. I changed the hitch back to the original Curt pin box with the BW Companion 5th wheel hitch setup. The Gen Y is a good product, not for the 2023 Jayco Eagle HT 30.5 ckts. This being the case I wasted around $1,800, which I won’t sell to another fellow RVer knowing this improper design. I’d know give the Gen Y a “0”.
Appears very well built. Have heard great things but haven't been able to put it into use yet. Just received it today.
No problems. No complaints. I received what I expected.
Easy to install, did it by myself! Off loaded in the back of my truck backed the truck up too the 5th wheel put it on t ball used my Airbags stood it up and bolted it into place!
Etrailer was great. Product arrived in great shape. Ordered on a Thursday and got it on a Monday. The hitch was very easy to install. Just needed myself and one other person to handle the weight. The hitch is nice and solid. Very impressed with the fit and finish. Have not yet pull with it but the fit and finish is exceptional! I highly recommend etrailer and Gen Y hitches.
Best decision ever. This hitch makes towing a breeze. We love not having a giant receiver in the bed of the truck making the truck more usable when not towing. Just a great hitch.

We absolutly love it. We recommend it to others quite often. The only negative is the release rod that comes with it is just AWFUL. We have received a different release but have yet to install it. Its not quite camping season in Oregon!
wacthed several videos but none was for this model the turning point the all said at least 2 people and a couple of hours i placed it in the back of my truck unpacked it made sure every thing i needed was there backed under the camper enough for the bed and tail gate to be used with a 2ton floor jack and sone 4x4 blocks of wood using the camper jacks also i was able to change it out in 1hour 45 min by myself every thing went like clock work haven't pulled it very far yet but so far i love it
